Your Gift Can Sustain Critical Care in Gaza and the West Bank
Live Appeal Emergency Response in a Time of Escalating Conflict
The escalating war in the Middle East is having profound consequences for already vulnerable communities. Across Gaza and the West Bank, intensifying conflict is placing immense pressure on fragile healthcare systems. Hospitals are treating rising numbers of patients while resources and safe access become increasingly uncertain, and many families are delaying treatment because they cannot afford it or cannot safely reach care.
In this urgent context, Mosaic’s current appeal is supporting the emergency healthcare response in Gaza and the West Bank. Through our long-standing partnership with the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem, we are helping sustain two Christian-run hospitals, Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza and St. Luke’s Hospital in Nablus, which continue to serve their communities regardless of faith or background.
At a time when conflict is deepening vulnerability, keeping these hospitals open and fully staffed can mean the difference between life and death. By working through trusted local partners, support reaches those most in need quickly and effectively, sustaining lifesaving care while preserving foundations of stability and hope.
Through our long-standing partnership with the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem, we are helping sustain two Christian-run hospitals that serve the whole community regardless of faith: Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza and St. Luke’s Hospital in Nablus in the West Bank. These institutions are not temporary projects; they are established, deeply rooted centres of care with decades of experience, trusted by the communities around them. Because these routes are already in place, support given now can be translated into immediate, practical impact, strengthening services that are already functioning rather than attempting to build new systems from scratch in an already fragile environment.

“Now we need you more than ever” Sawsan Aranki-Batato, Programs Development Officer, The Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem
The latest update from the Diocese of Jerusalem shows what is possible when consistent, targeted support is available: hospitals remain open, staff remain employed, and patients continue to receive treatment. Yet it also makes clear that this stability is fragile. Without ongoing funding, salary support and operational costs quickly become unsustainable, placing essential services at risk and undoing hard-won progress in a very short time.
Mosaic’s role is to channel support through trusted, established partners who are already embedded in their communities. This ensures that funds are used efficiently, reach the right places quickly, and build on existing infrastructure rather than creating parallel systems. In practical terms, it means doctors can continue treating patients this week, not months from now; it means medicines can be purchased through known supply routes; it means hospitals that have served their communities for generations can continue to do so with confidence and stability.

Help Sustain Critical Care in Gaza and the West Bank
This appeal is both urgent and practical. It is about sustaining services that are already saving lives: keeping emergency rooms staffed, wards open, and treatment available to families who have nowhere else to turn. It is also about standing alongside vulnerable Christian communities whose hospitals quietly serve people of all faiths, often at significant personal and financial cost.
Even when headlines shift elsewhere, the need remains. Your support today translates directly into functioning clinics, retained medical staff, and continued access to care for those under daily strain. We are committed to stewarding every contribution responsibly, ensuring that each gift strengthens the resilience of these hospitals and protects essential services that entire communities depend upon.
Pray now
As we journey through Lent toward the hope of Easter, we remember that the path to resurrection first passes through suffering and uncertainty. We pray for those in Gaza and the West Bank who are walking a long and painful road marked by fear, loss, and deep instability.
Lord of compassion, draw near to the sick, the injured, and the grieving. Strengthen doctors, nurses, and hospital staff who continue to serve with courage and faithfulness. Protect healthcare facilities and all who seek refuge within their walls.
In this Lenten season of repentance and renewal, deepen our prayer and enlarge our hearts. May hospitals such as Al Ahli and St. Luke’s be places of healing, dignity, and steadfast hope. And as Easter approaches, remind us that even in the darkest wilderness, Your light is not overcome and new life is still possible.
